Atomic Jesus Supernaturalist
Modern citizens of the new millennium (2000) don't much care what God says about adultery. "But I say, anyone who even looks at a woman with lust in his eye has already committed adultery with her in his heart." Wide disregard for this supernatural fact is rooted in spiritual ignorance.
The Christ used alluring imagery of an adulterous liaison between a man and a woman to define an indivisible singularity. The human sexual experience begins (as does all human activity) in the supernatural realm of thought. The stuff that makes a "thought" is eternal stuff. The living Soul and its thoughts are inseparable. The living Soul and its thoughts are one-in-the-same. Thought-and-Soul are simultaneous. One cannot exist without the other. More than a few people today believe there is no such thing as "a living Soul." Modern citizens (in the main) take little time to appreciate the wonder of "being-a-human-being."
People who think the Christ's remark about adultery is nothing more than a meddlesome bit of old-fashion religious discipline are misdirected by the hot confusion of human sexuality. The immoral and unethical quality of an adulterous relationship is one thing. An act of adultery in the eye being consummated in the heart by simply "thinking of it" is something else. The realm of thought in a living Soul is an intricate realm of deep, supernatural influence.
In these first days of a new millennium, the experience of living on planet Earth is a stew of escalating violence, terror and confusion. There are many people who flatly deny the existence of God Himself based upon God's allowance of these escalating terrors. In denying the existence of God, people who do so are, in fact, denying their own existence. The living Soul is as inseparable from God as thoughts are inseparable from the Soul.
The spin of "religion" further distracts the unwary Soul on Earth from its reasonable supernatural duties. At the moment of this writing (02 November 2002), radical religious terrorists descended from Abraham's bastard-son Ishmael are methodically fulfilling this ancient prophecy: "And he [Ishmael] will be a wild man; his hand [will be] against every man, and every man's hand against him; and he shall dwell in the presence of all his brethren."
Even as this ancient prophecy is being fulfilled to the letter, more than a few unwary Souls persist in believing life on Earth is a random evolutionary system that exploded into the stream of time from no-telling-where. In the purely humanist view, the Earth-universe has no intrinsic virtue other than "the survival of the fittest." The height of humanist aspiration is sexual gratification, luxury, money, and power. In this view, considerations of kindness, compassion, ethics and morality are pure hypocrisy. In a godless system, after all, it's every man for himself.
Erring humanist opinions do not affect the facts. The Earth is a vacuum-sealed pressure-cooker of supernatural conflict.
It's not easy to accept these supernatural facts because so little is ever said about the essentially spiritual character of being a human being. But when God-incarnate (Jesus of Nazareth) says desire in the eye is precisely the same as action-in-the-body there is only one of two choices that a living Soul can make: 1. Believe it and act accordingly. 2. Don't believe it and act accordingly. Actions-on-the-ground resulting from either one of these choices will affect the remainder of a living Soul's time on the surface of planet Earth.
The escalating excesses of religious fascism today enables many a Soul to conveniently ignore the supernatural facts of being alive. "If there were really a 'living god' he wouldn't allow these things to happen." The vagrant excess of humanistic religion snares many a Soul in more ways than one.
Those who choose not to believe the supernatural facts of being a human being are engaged in a folly of denial based upon nothing but sensory input. It is rarely emphasized that the five (5) anatomical senses of a human body cannot ever gather and collate enough information to produce a complete "big picture." Conclusions drawn from sensory input are always faulty, always incomplete, always uncertain. Scientists and engineers build intricate machinery to alleviate human error but the machines are designed and built by erring humans. The machines always come short of unerring perfection.
The supernatural input that God promises by His Spirit is rarely accessed: "Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, [that] shall he speak: and he will show you things to come."
Some people like to think of the human body as an intricate "machine." The human body is certainly intricate but it is just as certainly not a "machine." The human body is composed of elementary atomic structures drawn from the fizz of so-called "electromagnetic energy." Everything in the known universe is drawn from these intricate, infinitely complex fields of potential. Knowing this makes it a bit easier to understand how a thought-in-Soul is no different in quality from an action-in-body. Both events occur in the same medium-of-being. The indecipherable interlocked field of action that scientists have dubbed "electromagnetic energy" contains everything that exists in the mortal universe. Each and every living Soul on Earth is one piece of this larger puzzle.
The shattered Soul of the adam-species is a life-form that God Alone understands. Without some outside help, the Soul on Earth becomes a monstrous thing. Human creatures devise clever arguments to prop up their failing systems of ethics, morality, and the fantastic chimera they call "the indomitable spirit of man." There is no such thing as "the spirit of man." There is the living Soul in a body of atomic flesh. Both were created by Almighty God. Souls choosing to "go it alone" wither away in a vanishing world of lofty illusions.
God revealed this much about Himself to prophet Isaiah: "For [as] the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts higher than your thoughts." The ludicrous fantasy of a godless universe is a field of thought that lures many Souls into a spiritual darkness where no light shines. Without God's informing Spirit, the intellectual prowess and skill of a living Soul become grotesque caricatures of potential truth.
No Soul who comes to Earth from between the feet of a woman will experience anything in thought or in deed that Jesus of Nazareth has not first experienced in its absolute fullness. There is no ecstasy in pleasure; there is no horror in perversion, there is no guilt or fear of corruption, there is no disease, infirmity, or pain that God's Christ did not experience in the man known as Jesus of Nazareth. People who talk about "love" without considering the astonishing compassion of God in His Christ-manifestation are not talking about love. They're talking about something else.
Jesus of Nazareth knew all there is to know about the good-and-evil expressions of human desire. He was "tempted in all points as we are and yet He was perfect." All man, all God, all in one body of ordinary human flesh that God Himself perfected by the work of His Christ-Spirit. Jesus of Nazareth is the historically prototypical "new man." The unregenerate Soul-in-flesh who is not God (as this writer is not) is virtually powerless in its fleshy body. Attractive illusions of "power" fade soon enough. The greatest kingdoms and dynasties of this dying world eventually return to the dust.
The God-man recognized the spark of goodness remaining in the old unregenerate body of atomic flesh: "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him." The insatiable character of human desire is well-known but not much discussed--any more than God and His Christ are discussed "in Spirit and in Truth." Which is to say, "Hardly, if at all."
Jesus of Nazareth specialized in a kind of speech that, prior to His Speaking, had not existed anywhere on Earth. Being all-God-and-all-man produced a manner of speaking and action that are without precedent in human history. Dramatic examples that Jesus drew from ordinary human behaviour shoot straight at the heart of every living Soul. As these words are written, the Earth contains a world of people who think Jesus of Nazareth is but one of many "religious leaders" whose dramatic words and violent history are "religious tools" used to dupe the masses. To think so is a common mistake.
God's Christ-Spirit in Jesus of Nazareth spoke of the pleasurable desire for sexual gratification to make an important point about the inseparability of the Soul from the variegated (and unique) fields of thought contained within each. Humanistic theology, philosophy, religion, and science have diminished appreciation for these plain, supernatural facts. Thinking clearly about Who God Is and What He is doing is often obscured by billowing clouds of religious and scientific folderol.
In the final analysis, the thoughts and the deeds of a living Soul are one-in-the-same. An Absolutely Final Analysis of every thought and deed ever to occur in every Soul during the time of man will be carried out in a day yet-to-come with meticulous, relentless precision. "All things are naked and opened to The Eyes of Him with whom we have to do."
Believing that "it does not matter what you think" as long as you don't "act it out" is a futile position. Making a sincere turn to The One Man who paid the full price for the inequities and deadly corruption of the living Soul-in-flesh is the most dramatic action-in-thought any Soul will ever perform in this decaying, dying atomic world.
