One Thing and Another.
In the form of a man named Jesus of Nazareth, the Christ of God drew a sharp distinction between the living Soul and the dying flesh.  Everything Jesus said and everything Jesus did illuminates the difference between those two very distinct states-of-being.  The Soul is immortal.  The flesh is Cursed with Death.  No amount of religious gainsaying or atheistic denial can alter the supernatural facts.
